Meeting people in China: safety and your choices
Choose what to share and whom to meet. Keep first meetings in public places, confirm the details directly, and use the app's reporting, blocking and support options when needed. No profile or shared interest guarantees another person's reliability.
What if I do not want contact?
You do not have to accept a connection request or agree to meet. Use blocking and reporting in the app for unwanted contact, and Help & feedback or the support page for account and product questions. FriendLane support is not an emergency response service; contact local emergency services if there is immediate danger.
What should I agree before meeting?
Confirm the date, time, public meeting point, expected duration and how each person will get there and leave. Tell someone you trust about your plans, keep control of your own transport and spending, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. Check venue access, tickets and opening information directly with the venue.
Does this website book tickets or collect activity payments?
No. This website provides editorial guides and app information. It does not sell transport or attraction tickets, collect activity payments or reserve a place in an activity. Any separate venue costs should be checked with the venue; an AI suggestion is not a ticket or a confirmed reservation.

What will I need to check before joining a city activity?
Read the actual route, time, capacity, cancellation and attendance rules before confirming. The planned flow displays those rules before signup; itinerary generation alone does not hold a seat. If plans change, use the cancellation process in the app. Attendance disputes are reviewed by staff, with an appeal route; a missed location check by itself does not determine a penalty.
How do optional AI permissions work?
For the existing Story-photo explanation, the author must allow AI use and the reader must consent to the individual request. Review the privacy information before sharing a permitted photo and its related text with the AI service. Choosing to read a Story does not itself give AI permission.

How will optional group-message translation protect my choice?
Authors will choose whether a message may be translated, with permission off by default. A reader will also need to consent for each translation. The translation will be shown privately to that reader and will not be posted automatically. Withdrawing permission prevents future translation requests; leaving a session withdraws the permissions given during that membership.
