How to explore China and make friends with FriendLane
Start with a place you want to explore, choose what you share, and send a connection request. Once it is accepted, you can chat in the app. FriendLane China is for adults aged 18 and over who want friendship and shared travel experiences.
Can I explore China without an account?
Yes. This website lets you read editorial city and place guides without signing in. Use the iOS or Android app for profiles, connection requests and chat. The website covers 34 provinces and regions; this is editorial coverage, not a promise of nearby members or scheduled activities.
How do I start a conversation?
Explore shared destinations or interests in the app, open an available profile and send a connection request. Chat begins after the request is accepted. Reading a Story, saving a place or following someone does not automatically start a chat or enroll either person in a plan.
Which languages does FriendLane support?
The website supports Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Russian. The international app interface supports English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Russian. Stories and messages remain in the language in which they were written. The existing optional photo explanation works in English and requires the Story author's permission plus the reader's consent for that request.

How will AI travel planning work?
Enter your departure city, dates, destinations and preferences to request a private AI itinerary. Review and edit the draft before saving it. Travel times, transport options and prices still need checking against current sources. Generating or editing a plan will not book transport, publish your itinerary or sign you up for an activity.

How will a city walk or photo walk form?
Choose a real available fixed session or initiate a session on an available route. Review its time, meeting place, seat rules and cancellation and attendance notice, then confirm explicitly. The session forms only when its stated minimum is reached. Participants arrange their own travel; activities are free or expenses are paid individually. Hangzhou, Shanghai and Guangzhou are planned cities, subject to verified routes and actual service availability.

Will AI help with activity questions and translation?
Optional city-activity assistance will answer questions using current session facts and suggest conversation or photography themes. Single-message translation will require the author's permission and the reader's consent for each request. Results will be visible only to the requester and will not automatically be posted to the group.
