Fuling is one of Liaoning’s early Qing imperial tomb complexes. Built in the seventeenth century, these burial landscapes combine inherited Chinese planning traditions with features of Manchu culture. Their buildings, sculpture and carefully chosen settings served ceremonies as well as remembrance.
Rather than trying to read every symbol at once, follow the sequence of a gate, a path and a roof. Compare with a friend how each element changes the feeling of approach.
