Yu Garden began as a private garden in the Ming dynasty. Its pavilions, rocks and ponds make a place where a few steps can change the scene: stone fills the foreground, then water or a roofline draws your attention.

Imagine arriving with someone who notices different things. One person follows a reflection; the other stops at a pattern in the rock. Trade observations and let the route unfold slowly. The garden’s long history can be a starting point for an ordinary conversation about what makes a place feel restful to you.
