A PLACE, A STORY / Sanya
Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone
Buddhist buildings and a tall Guanyin statue meet the coastline. Nanshan pairs carefully arranged architecture with the open horizon of the sea.

Nanshan’s cultural tourism zone brings together Buddhist temples, gardens and a large Guanyin statue beside the sea. Nanshan Temple forms one part of the wider site, where religious imagery and coastal scenery are deliberately placed in conversation. The statue’s different faces look in different directions.
Begin with the contrast between a detailed building and the broad horizon. One invites a close look; the other lets the eye wander. Both can belong to the same quiet moment.
